It is recommended that all material is sealed. The sealer prevents water, oil, and dirt penetration and will not wash out of the stone.

Material:

  1. Natural Stone is not uniform, consistent or flawless.

  2. There are inherent characteristic to some material, such as pits, fissures, and unique coloring.

  3. Variation will occur from slab to slab or tile-to-tile, it is important that more than one piece of material is viewed.

  4. The finish on the material, polished or honed, will wear with extreme elements and abrasive cleaners.
  5. It is recommended that a sealer be applied to the stone every 6 to 12 months.

Basic Care:

  1. DO NOT clean any natural stone with acidic cleaners: This includes: vinegar, lemon juice, or ammonia based cleaners.
  2. DO clean natural stone with “neutral base” cleaners that contain no ammonia.
  3. DO seal all stones. Natural stone is porous, and needs to be sealed properly.
